What are the Stars Over America Awards?

The FFA Stars Over America awards honor outstanding members at the chapter, state and national levels. Anyone who earns an FFA degree is eligible for recognition. An FFA member can move up the FFA degree ladder and strive for higher star awards as they go.

State Level Awards

Contact your state's FFA association for more information about state-level Star awards.

National Level Awards

The National FFA Organization selects 16 finalists (four per award) for the organization’s top awards:

The national FFA Stars Over America awards recognize students who have developed outstanding agricultural skills and competency through their career development programs and earned the American FFA Degree—the organization’s highest level of accomplishment.

Each Star finalist receives $2,000 from the National FFA Organization.  One winner in each category will be selected at the 83rd National FFA Convention. Winners will receive an additional $2,000 award.

National Stars Over America finalists are selected on the basis of the quality of their applications for the American FFA Degree. Each state association recommends one candidate for each of the four award areas. Nominees must apply for both the American Degree and a Star award in the same year.
